  • It comes with the latest 8+ Gen1 Processor
  • A supercharger of 150W
  • No Alert Slider

OnePlus recently in its US event unveiled the latest OnePlus 10T. The introduction of the OnePlus 10T in the 10 series family of OnePlus could be termed as the performance upgrade of all the phones which were launched in the 10th series. The phone also steals the limelight from the recently launched iQOO 9T in the flagship segment. Let’s have a detailed look at the new OnePlus 10T!

Design

The new OnePlus 10T looks very similar to its predecessor OnePlus 10 Pro but the new 10T holds a shiny look rather than the matte look which we saw in the 10 Pro. The phone comes with light body weight making it easy to operate. One very disappointing thing which we came across in the new 10T is the absence of Alert Slider which we used to love and it used to give OnePlus phones a distinct identity. The body of the phone is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides taking away the equation of any damage from any sudden fall.

The rear side of the phone holds a similar camera frame with three camera sensors and an LED flash just like we saw in the OnePlus 10 Pro. The front side is dominated by the tall screen with the selfie sensor placed in the center. On the right side lies the power button and the volume rockers are placed on the left side. The SIM tray is placed on the bottom side along with the Type-C port and the speaker outlet. On the top side lies the secondary mic for active noise cancellation and an IR blaster.

Display

The new OnePlus 10T comes with a 6.7 FHD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20.1:9 It has a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1000Hz touch sampling rate. It has 950nits of brightness level. The display also comes with HDR10+ support. It has a resolution of 2412 X 1080 pixels and supports 10-bit Color Depth. The visibility is very good as you can view the screen quite comfortably under bright daylight. The colors reproduced are top-notch as they are bright, vivid, and punchy with accurate color saturation levels. The screen-to-body ratio is very good as the bezels and the chin on the display are very thin.

The experience of scrolling and playing games on the screen is very smooth and the TSR enhances the gaming performance as well. In the display setting one can find various features as well like Eye comfort, Image sharpener, Video color enhancer, Screen color mode, Auto brightness, Manual brightness, SCREEN COLOR TEMPERATURE, and Bright HDR video mode, Dark Mode, Screen color pro mode, etc.

OS

OnePlus 10T runs on OxygenOS based on Android 12 and the phone will get the update of OxygenOS 13 later this year along with the OnePlus 10 Pro.

Processor and Performance

The new OnePlus 10T ships with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor which is the fastest in the market. The daily tasks are no issue at all and there is no point telling how it handled the tasks. The phone comes with the first-ever ultra-thin vapor cooling system which is called a Cryo-velocity Vapor Cooling System. The cooling system of the phone allows you to play heavy games for long hours without any hint of heating. For gaming, it comes with Adreno 730 GPU. It also has GPA Frame Stabilizer and GLC (GPU Load Control) enhancing the gaming experience. The phone also has Customized AI System Booster 2.1 to ensure real-time system-level optimizations and power monitoring.

The new OnePlus 10T comes with three RAM configurations 8GB, 12GB, and for the first time 16GB. There are two ROM configurations 128GB and 256GB. The unit which we got to review comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM configuration. Overall, there is nothing that the new OnePlus 10T can’t do in terms of performance as we did not come across any glitches at all.

Camera

The new OnePlus 10T comes with a 50MP IMX766 main camera sensor, followed by 8MP ultra-wide lens and 119.9-degree ultra-wide angle and the third sensor is a 2MP macro lens. The rear camera sensors do a very good job of taking every detail into account when capturing any images but the quality of images, when compared to the OnePlus 10 Pro, is a little lower. The shots taken from the ultra-wide lens are very detailed as well. The low-light photography is very good and we were able to capture some crisp images at night. We can say that we liked the rear camera's capability to capture brilliant and detailed images.

For selfies, the new OnePlus 10T comes with a 16MP camera and has EIS support. The selfies captured were brilliant with proper details. The rear camera can capture videos in 4K@60fps/30fps, 1080p@60fps/30fps, 720p@60fps/30fps. The videos captured were very stable as well as it has steady video EIS support. The new OnePlus 10T has ICE 2.0 feature to capture images in split seconds with an ultra-fast shutter.

Battery

OnePlus 10T ships with 4,800 mAh battery power with a 150W SuperVOOC charger. The battery lasts a day very easily and it charges from 0-100% within 20-21 minutes. For such fast charging, the company has enabled the phone with 13 temperature sensors to prevent the phone from heating up. The phone is also enabled with a Smart charge feature which is an AI algorithm to deliver better-charging speed.

Verdict

The new OnePlus 10T is surely a performance upgrade phone with a fast processor, battery power, and charger but it cannot be termed as an upgrade in terms of camera power as we have seen the previous OnePlus 10 Pro has a better image delivery. The removal of the Alert slider is an unwelcome move. The presence of the iQOO 9T is surely going to have an impact on the new OnePlus 10T.
