OnePlus 9RT Review

 Review of OnePlus 9RT

OnePlus 9RT

OnePlus has established itself as a major brand and has set a benchmark for all the competitive smartphone companies. OnePlus has been very successful when it comes to delivering powerful performance. The company after entering the Indian market has not looked back and continued to stay true to the expectations of its customers. OnePlus has recently launched its most powerful performing phone with slight upgrades from the previously launched 9R which we reviewed last year. OnePlus has started the year 2022 with the launch of the OnePlus 9RT and in this review of ours, we are going to highlight what all new the new 9RT has to offer.

Design

OnePlus shows off its premium tag with elegance not just in the terms of software but also in terms of looks as the latest 9RT comes with an elegant look and aesthetic appeal especially the Black variant which we got to review. The phone looks very classy when held and surely catches the eye of the people who pass by. Adding more to its aesthetic feel is the lightweight of the phone which makes it very easy to carry around and operate. The new 9RT has an upgraded side frame when compared to 9R meaning the new 9RT holds an aluminum frame rather than the plastic frame which we saw on 9R. The placement of the control buttons is as usual as we have seen in all the phones from OnePlus with the power button the slider on the right and the volume keys on the left side.

Display

The OnePlus 9RT features a 6.62-inch Samsung E4 OLED panel with a 2400x1800 screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen has a flat design and the selfie camera is located in the top left corner, which doesn't obstruct gameplay. The color accuracy is excellent, with sharp and vibrant colors. You can choose different color profiles from the settings. While most games are locked at 60Hz or 90Hz, the touch response is still impressive. The on-display fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate, surpassing previous OnePlus phones.

Camera

The OnePlus 9RT features a powerful triple camera setup. The primary sensor is a 50MP wide lens, the secondary sensor is a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and the third sensor is a 2MP macro lens. The selfie camera is 16MP. The selfies captured were detailed and of high quality, even in low light. The rear camera sensors captured detailed and color-accurate images with no pixel distortion. Night mode was recommended for clear and balanced night-time photography. The phone supports 4K 60fps video recording with stable footage. The camera segment includes various modes like Movie mode and Pro mode for added flexibility.

OS

The new 9RT comes runs on OxygenOS 11.3 which is somewhere in between OS 11 and OS 12. Since its closeness to OS 11 the OS 11.3 holds the same layout as you can spot from its launcher. The setting app has now got more simplified like there are no more navigation gesture buttons.

Processor

The processor performance of the new 9RT has no lag as whatever test we ran the phone stood out very solid and smooth. The new 9RT runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and our review unit had the configuration of 12GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The applications which we tested opened at a lightning-fast speed. The performance capability while gaming remained in its prime level as we did not encounter any lag while gaming no matter what game we played. We could only say that the processor is very best at what it does.

Battery

The new 9RT comes with a battery power of 4500mAh which lasted a day very easily with a single charge after normal use but you need to charge the phone again in the evening if you are an intense user as some applications drain the battery very quickly. The charging speed of the phone is very good as the 65W charger almost charges up the battery within half an hour from 0-100%. The phone also supports 33W PPS charging for reasonably fast charging even with third-party chargers.

Conclusion

The new 9RT is a complete package in terms of performance, looks, battery, etc. The upgrades are visible as compared to the previously launched 9R. The cons which I can think of is the price of the phone as the competitors like Redmi with its model like Mi 11X Pro is offering almost same features with a comparatively lower price. But if you are a OnePlus lover then the new 9RT could be your deal.
